Prince Martial Arts Academy goes one step forward and believes in the complete philosophy of this ancient art. The school not only teaches martial arts but also provides a haven for improvement of the mind, body & soul while enriching the lives of the students and reminding them to have considera- tion for one another. With a mission statement steeped in compassion, Prince Martial Arts is known among karate enthusiasts as the best place to learn. Sensei Rupert Prince Hent- ley considers discipline and respect as the core values required for advancing to the next belt level. Prince Martial Arts offers a complete curriculum for adults and children, as well as individual les- sons, and family sessions. The school encourages all those who want to build confidence, lose weight, improve self-defense abili- ties or correct a child’s behavior. The school’s system is strongly grounded in traditional Okinawan Kempo karate using forms (kata) (kihon) and kumite. In addition, it also teaches Arnis (escrima stick fighting). “Karate is my calling, my pas- sion!” says Master Hentley, owner and instructor at Prince Martial Arts. Teaching for over 15 years, he built the school on the grounds of dedication and hard work. Trained in the disciplines of Ryukyu Kempo Karate, Tuite Jujitsu, Small Circle Jujitsu and Brazilian Jujitsu, Master Hentley also has an educational background in Management, Child Psychology, Health and Fitness. He practices what he preaches. He is an active member of the communi- ty and for the last three decades, has been the coordinator for a proj- ect called Sponsor-A-Family or child for the holiday. With a belief in reinforcing good habits and with stress on being passionate, Prince Martial Arts teaches practical self-defense for real life situations. One student at a time, the school is helping each child grow up to be a better person by building more confidence and teaching them to be a little more respectful. Along with training a child to be well-versed in various arts of self-defense, Prince Martial Arts instills in each child the feel- ings of kindness towards siblings and friends thereby making them stronger in body and in mind. The school began in 2002 with an enrollment of 18 students, and it has grown to approx 175 stu- dents. It’s about to open the doors of a brand new location on Route 22 East & Milltown Road. Training students from ages 3 and a half to seniors, the school follows a no contract, liberal make up policy.
