I have always loved the subjective nature and expression of art. From when I was young, I immersed myself in ballet and piano. Coming out of middle school, I became very interested in the visual arts as well. Drawing became one of my favorite things to do. I love find- ing new ways to express art, and I hoped to achieve just that during high school. I took as many art classes I possibly could throughout my high school career, ranging from computer aided graphic design, to art studio, to photography, jewelry and fine arts. I always find myself enjoying the discover- ies of how to use new mediums. The paint- ing on the front cover was one of the first times I ever practiced with acrylic paints. I fell in love with the different textures that could be produced from a paint brush. I find it difficult to choose a favorite medi- um, they all use different techniques to produce different qualities. Most recently, I have started to enjoy drawing digitally on an iPad. It is quite different than drawing with a pencil or a paintbrush, but it’s qual- ities aren’t comparable. I love each individ- ually and continue to expand my tech- nique in all of them. I have had pieces shown at the Watchung Art Center, the duCret-school of Art High School show, and the Hillsborough Cultur- al Arts Commission. I see art as a prominent part of my future. I dream to go to college in California, New York, or Massachusetts. I am still unsure of my plans for my future, but I know that art will lead me through it. I have a strong interest in animation and graphic design. However, I additionally love to help others and study psychology, where art therapy may be where I see myself going.
