His family settled in Union City, New Jersey where he lived until he married his wife Lisette. He stud- ied painting, drawing, sculpture and print-making at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York City where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1980. He later attended Jersey City State College where he worked on education courses for teacher certification in New Jersey. In 1986, Mr. Marrero accepted a teaching position at Mendham High School where he taught a variety of art courses including painting, art history, foundation art, photography and introducto- ry drawing. He has exhibited his work in one- man shows and group shows throughout the metropolitan area. His work is available through several venues including: Janus Galleries, Wisconsin, Ugallery.com, and his website www.oneliomarrero.com Currently retired from teaching, Mr. Marrero divides his time between his family and his art.
