All you must do is venture over to Trat- toria Biagio in Stirling, NJ. With its ultra- modern and romantic interior, crystal chandeliers, high leather backed booth seats, copper coffered ceiling and roman- tic music in the background, it’s a great place for date night, family outings or any group party or occasion. This Italian food focused eatery opened on July 19, 2017 with the intention of bringing something chic and new to the neighborhood. Under the leadership of Chef/Owner Biagio Iuliano and General Manager, Rikki Arale, it is off to a wonderful start! Trattoria Biagio is taking a seasonal menu approach, so every three months their featured seasonal menu will change. This season they are featuring autumn dishes to warm the heart. These dishes include butternut squash ravioli with rum and date cream sauce, grilled baby lamb chops with pear and gor- gonzola granotto, sunflower seed risot- to, warm beet and fennel salad with mandarin vinaigrette and homemade fusilli with wild boar ragu. They recog- nize that there are people who prefer the old favorites, so they have opted to include an entire page of these favorite dishes which will remain on the menu throughout the year. So, you will always be able to get a great chicken parmi- giana, beef short rib with pappardelle pasta or rigatoni Bolognese here too. With a wide range of diverse offerings, there is something on the menu that will appeal to everyone. Diners may note that they have gluten free items for entrees and desserts and for the “foodie” types, it’s an exciting place to stop by and try something different. There are a few things besides the fabulous food that they serve that really set Trattoria Biagio apart from other places. First, one of the best things fea- tured at this restaurant is the fresh baked bread that they get from their own bak- ery located right next door. Breads like Italian white bastone, multigrain with cranberry and walnut, olive and parmi- giana baguette, rosemary focaccia, seed- ed semolina, ciabatta and panella are some of the delicious varieties of artisan breads you will get on your table. Sec- ond, Biagio makes his own pastas and sauces, which he can cook for you in the restaurant or you can purchase separate- ly in their store and bring them home with you. Third, Biagio’s Bakery and Deli makes delicious cookies, cakes and pas- tries which you can order to your table for dessert or take home with you any- time. Fourth, they feature Lavazza cof- fee, espresso and cappuccino which is great way finish your meal. Biagio Iuliano (owner of both busi- nesses) was born in Italy and trained as a chef in Salerno, Italy. He is also a master in the art of bread making. When he is not working at his bakery or in his restaurant’s kitchen, he enjoys bee-keep- ing and spending time with his family at their Berkeley Heights home. Together with an associate bee-keeper and Long Hill resident, Craig Tuma, they have formed the Long Hill Bee Company and their honey is currently sold at Biagio’s Bakery and Deli. If you haven’t already had the opportunity to stop in and grab some, be sure to go and try it out. Get a baguette or sandwich too, you won’t be disappointed! Biagio and his family contribute a great deal to the community and local churches. Aside from their community involvement, they advertise their business through word of mouth, cooking demos and social media. Specifically, they’ve been featured on New Jersey 101.5 with Dennis & Judi and have a healthy cooking series featured on their website that cus- tomers can view and get recipes with step by step instructional guidance. Trattoria Biagio offers private parties and gatherings and can make anything to order for catering in-house or to-go. Be sure to call 908-350-8064 to make reservations for dinner or to book your next party. For more information or to download the dinner or catering menus please visit www.biagiosbakery.com
