THE CONNECTION

Bernards-Ridge Edition

We welcome Summer 2015 with a fabulous edition of The Bernards-Ridge Connection. Once again we feature local busi- nesses and professionals with ad- vertising and articles in sections meant to make the magazine more interesting and eas- ier to read! This issue our sections include: Summer Programs, featuring many activities and camps to keep the kids busy this summer, Home Sweet Home, which highlights everything home related, Dining Out with some great new restaurants and outdoor patio options, Health & Wellness to keep us balanced and happy this summer season. Tie The Knot Section featuring specialties for your upcoming affair and we are happy to present the Charming Chester Section, featuring the businesses in the town of Chester. Also our Spot- light on Seniors includes a heartfelt column by Ellyn Mantell and of course our Community Calendar in- troduces the new summer programs, clubs and ac- tivites. We hope you keep this magazine in your homes all summer as a valuable source for all your local needs! Featured from our business/professional community are: Bernardsville Animal Hospital, Tull’s Auto Repair, Dance Center of New Jersey, Jen’s Mutt Hutt Too, Avenue Travel and The American BBQ Company. Our talented writers have given us unique in- sight into these businesses and their respective owners. Local artist, Adrian Giuliani, adorns our cover with a pastel entitled “Reflections of Julia.” A graduate of RISD fine arts program, Adrian found pastels to be the most satisfying medium she worked with. She also loved the continuous work she did from life, such as figure drawing, self portraits or pastel classes. She en- joys portrait work and states, “My main goal is to create a piece of art that beautifully reflects your child.” She strives to capture their personality and emotion at that moment. Her inspiration for the cover piece: “Beautiful Julia was on the beach, basking in the warmth, in her brightly colored bathing suit and her sunny expression. This image of my friend’s daughter was such an inspi- ration to me with its joyful colors, gorgeous light and wonderful reflections on the water. My goal was to cap- ture a snapshot in time of Julia’s childhood, and a mem- ory for her parents to treasure for years to come.” Please read Adrian’s impressive bio on page 8. Look for our FUN contest in this issue: SPOT THE FAKE! Somewhere in this issue is a fake ad. Find it and email us at Spotthefake@theconnectionsnj.com.
