UPPER GALLERY featuring Unique Vision Workshop “Connections XIV”
Featured in the November’s exhibition by Unique Vision Workshop will be Pam Greene, documentary photographer who captures those random moments such as “The Meatpacking District which was known for its grit but has been reborn into an alluring neighborhood. Greene captures this neighborhood’s evolution in “Blood and Beauty: Manhattan’s Meatpacking District” (Schiffer) and has been hailed for the beautifully evocative pictures capturing the change over eight years from 2002 – 2010.
Exhibition will also include the following: A father/son exhibit from Jim Ting and his 12 year old son, Darren; Sherman Feller; George Bujarski; Ray Yaros; Patricia Bender; Miron Abramovici; Sue Zwick; and Joan Shyers.
LOWER GALLERY featuring Ross Wagner’s solo show “Abstraction/Reality: Two Worlds”
Photographing is my joy.
Many of my images have captured nature wrapped in the glorious light of late afternoon sun, our cities reaching for heaven or the pleasures and foibles of the daily life of man.
Yet just behind the world of reality lies a whole other family of photographs—often to me even more provocative—abstraction, especially when the two worlds flirt with each other.
This year’s exhibit is devoted to these images made over the years as my eye wandered from the surface world to swim below the waves, and back.
Made with film, or captured on a digital plate, the results explore the same territory. Thus included here are black and white gelatin silver prints as well as full color work made from millions of pixels.
Ross Wagner is the founder and facilitator of the Unique Vision Photography Workshop which meets monthly at the Watchung Arts Center.
