Event To Benefit The JCC Scholarship Fund, Providing Financial Assistance
To Those In Need in the Community
Bridgewater, NJ — The Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center (JCC) will be hosting its 4th Annual 5K Run/Walk and Pool Party on Thursday, July 25 at the JCC, located at 775 Talamini Road in Bridgewater. The 5K Run/Walk benefits the JCC Scholarship Fundand is open to the entire community. The registration fee is $25/adult when received by July 11 and $30/adult after July 11. All 5K runners and walkers who register by July 11 will receive a free moisture wick shirt included with their registration. The registration fee for runners ages 12 and under is $20/child. Registration begins at 6 pm and the Run/Walk starts at 7 pm. Prizes will be awarded to the first place winner in multiple age groups, male and female. A One Mile Family Fun Walk will also take place at 7pm; the registration fee is $10/Family. The fun continues after the 5K Run/Walk with a pool party at the JCC’s outdoor pool featuring a DJ and inflatable. All runners and walkers are invited to attend at no additional cost. The JCC Scholarship Fund provides assistance to families with financial limitations so they can send their children to JCC Camp Ruach and the Blaustein Early Childhood Center. Scholarships Funds are also provided to families and individuals who require assistance for membership so that they can participate in health and wellness programs/activities. The JCC Scholarship Fund also provides support services to more than 200 seniors in the community, offering a kosher, hot nutritional lunch, exercise, cultural programming and the opportunity to socialize with one another. The JCC has awarded more than $1 million in financial assistance since opening its doors to the community in 1999.
The JCC provides fitness, recreational, social, cultural and educational programs for the entire community. The state-of-the-art facility includes indoor and outdoor salt based pools, gymnasium, fitness center, group fitness studios offering more than 60 group fitness classes per week (including Les Mills fitness programs, P90X Small Group Personal Training, Spin, Zumba, Water Fitness and more); Blaustein Early Childhood Center (ages 6 weeks through Kindergarten), JCC Camp Ruach (ages 15 months through 9th Grade), “J” Crew After School Program (Grades K-6), Bridgewater Tide Swim Team and JCC Summer Swim Club.
