Bridgewater, NJ – The Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center (JCC) located at 775 Talamini Road in Bridgewater, will be holding an Open House on Wednesday, April 3 from 9 am-8 pm for Health & Fitness Membership, Preschool and Camp. The community is invited to attend. JCC Staff will be available to provide tours of the JCC, and special one-day savings will be offered. The JCC is offering special savings for new memberships including waiving the Joiner Fee (savings of up to $150) and 50% off the upgrade on a Star Membership (savings of up to an additional $125) offering total savings of up to $375 (some restrictions apply). The JCC Blaustein Early Childhood Center and JCC Camp Ruach are both offering $50 off of new school and camp registrations (some restrictions apply). The JCC facility includes a state of the art fitness center, gymnasium, indoor pool, outdoor pool (both salt based) with dome enclosure during the off season, group fitness studio, spin studio, and outdoor basketball and tennis courts. The JCC Fitness Department offers more than 60 group fitness classes per week including new as of April 3 — 90X Small Group Personal Training; Les Mills BodyCombat, BodyPump and CXWORX; Spin; Zumba, Zumba Core, Zumba Toning, Aqua Zumba and Zumba Gold; Yoga, Pilates, Water Fitness, Senior Water Fitness; Silver & Fit Senior Fitness Program. Personal Training and Small Group Personal Training is available for kids, adults and seniors. The JCC Aquatics Department offers the Red Cross Learn to Swim Program for infants through adults. Swim classes have a maximum of four participants/class. The JCC Bridgewater Tide Swim Team is now registering for a Competitive Stroke Clinic and Long Course Training. The Competitive Stroke Clinic will runs April 22 – May 23 and is open to JCC Bridgewater Tide Swimmers, JCC members and members of the community. (Fees are posted on line at www.ssbjcc.org – go to the “Swim Team” page. The Clinic offers swimmers the opportunity to refine competitive swimming skills. Instruction is geared toward swimmers ages 6-18 who are legal in all four competitive strokes (Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly) and no prior swim team experience is required. The five –week clinic devotes a week to each of the four strokes and the final week provides instruction on starts and turns. A high coach to swimmer ration allows for individual analysis and attention. The Long Course Training program begins April 22 and runs through July 28. The Long Course Training Program is open to USA Swimmers that compete in state and national level swim meets. The JCC Blaustein Early Childhood Center offers programs for ages 6 weeks through Kindergarten. Preschool and child care hours are 7:30am- 6:00pm. Year-round program is available. Developmentally appropriate academic program, swimming, physical education, music and Jewish holiday celebrations, are part of the curriculum. Summer Camp and enrichment programs are also available. JCC Camp Ruach offers programs for campers ages 15 months through 9th Grade. Registration is available for a minimum of four-weeks. Preschoolers have multiple scheduling options to meet individual needs. Camp Ruach has three swimming pools — indoor and outdoor — four sports fields, climbing wall, high and low ropes courses, mini-golf course, portable skateboard park, great indoor facilities including a gymnasium, and much more. The Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center serves Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Counties, providing fitness, recreational, social, cultural and educational programs for the entire community.
