When I first visited
Get In Shape For
Women
almost 2 years ago, it was an
empty space being outfitted as a gym with
its owners, Joe Maistickle and his son Rob
hoping for their first customers in Warren.
Last week, I walked into a sleek, clean facil-
ity, bursting with music, movement and
energy!
Get In Shape For Women
is located in
The Corner Village of Warren. With over
fifty locations in the Massachusetts area,
this fitness phenomenon arrived in New
Jersey in 2010 and has been growing ever
since. In fact, Joe and Rob will be opening
their second location in Westfield this com-
ing December! As Joe continues to run the
“
business” side of things, Rob will manage
and train at the Westfield location, having
recently brought in Suzanne Rich to man-
age Warren.
Suzanne comes to
Get In Shape For
Women
with 20 years of experience in the
health and fitness world. In her Rhode
Island high school she played just about
every sport, and went on to play college
basketball. After tackling the corporate
world, Suzanne came back to her true love
–
fitness in 2002 when she ran her own
gym, “Lady of America” until she sold it in
2011.
A short stint back in the world of
Human Resources convinced Suzanne that
her true love, health and fitness training, is
what would be right for her, and she is
thrilled to be a part of
Get In Shape For
Women.
The concept behind
Get In Shape For
Women
is very straightforward: come to
them with a measurable goal, and their
expert staff will help you achieve it. That
goal can be anything from losing weight to
gaining muscle to training for a marathon.
If you are serious, your goals will be met. If
not, this is not the place for you. As Rob
put it: “We are a transformational gym.”
This is a term that many women want to
hear, and with a gym whose membership is
almost full, Rob was excited to announce
that one of the members has reached her
100-
pound weight-loss goal!
Get In Shape For Women
is not your
ordinary gym. Personalized attention to all
members all the time is what makes mem-
bership here special. With the focus on
small group training (maximum of 4
women per group) workouts are cus-
tomized and nutritional plans are designed
to fit each woman’s specific requirements.
Each workout lasts an hour and consists of
30
minutes of progressive weight training
and 30 minutes of interval cardio training.
Workouts are scheduled in advance and
each woman will have her specific time
slot. Members are weighed, measured and
have a body fat analysis completed weekly
to insure that they are getting the results
expected. At
Get In Shape For Women,
you will never be just a number, but rather
an individual.
Members begin with a one-on-one
interview and free session, to see if this
specialized approach is right for them. At
Get In Shape For Women,
each member
is expected to work hard, and follow the
individual nutritional program designed
especially for them. If a member fails to do
this, Rob explained that he would not hes-
itate to suggest that this program might
not be right for them. This is a private club,
and membership is regulated by its mem-
bers’ hard work and dedication.
Brian Cook, who earned his degree in
exercise and physiology, founded
Get In
Shape For Women
in 2007 and fine-
tuned a program based on science and
math to get the best weight-loss results
possible. The staff in the Warren location
will surely not disappoint. It is their mission
to assure that every woman who joins is a
satisfied customer.
Memberships begin as young as 13
years old. Mother-daughter teams are
strongly encouraged, as is coming in with a
group of friends. The gym is open on
Monday-Friday 6:00am-12:30pm and 4-
8
pm, and on Saturdays from 8:00am–
12:00
