Berkeley Heights welcomed
Yogoccino
to their town for the Grand
Opening on August 12th with a line of
over 500 eagerly awaited customers
who were so excited and impressed
with what they saw and tasted. What
is
Yogoccino
you ask? Well, its name
is derived from a combination of
yogurt and cappuccino explained
owner, Steven Guastamacchia. Steven,
who was a contractor up to 2008 and
a life long entrepreneur in other busi-
nesses has partnered with his brother-
in-law, Stephen DeMaria in this new
venture. Steven is a 15 year resident of
Scotch Plains with his wife and three
children and now has big plans for this
now 1700 square foot premium space
at 442 Springfield Avenue soon to be
expanded to a total of 4,500 square
feet.
Yogoccino
is not your typical
yogurt store, it is a “Yogurt Cafe” serv-
ing fresh lowfat yogurts such as “mon-
key bread” which is a combination of
“
sea salt caramel pretzel” and “ooey
gooey cinnamon bun;” lowfat “mocha”
which combines “espresso” and “non-
fat dreamy dark chocolate” in addition
to another favorite, the “dreamsicle”
which is “non-dairy orange” and
“
nonfat Tahitian vanilla.” The wall of
yogurt features 24 flavors with over 50
toppings and includes 18 that are
refrigerated. According to Steven, “the
cleanliness of our machines makes the
difference in the quality of our
yogurt.”
What makes
Yogoccino
so unique
is the cafe aspect of this beautiful
establishment. Upon entering the
store, you immediately feel like it is a
fun place to be. With gold colored
walls and beautiful multi-colored glass
tile backsplash you can relax in red
cushioned seating and enjoy some of
the best coffee in the area. The coffee
beans are a special blend roast import-
ed from Italy prepared for
Yogocinno.
You can also enjoy using your ipad
with free wi-fi access.
You cannot go wrong with the out-
standing pastries direct from Bovella’s
of Westfield. With Bovella’s well
known reputation, you can be assured
that they are confident that their pas-
tries will pair up nicely with the quality
of the coffee and yogurt served. You
may also order cakes and other good-
ies from Bovella’s through
Yogoccino.
In addition, don’t forget to purchase a
homemade pie or pumpkin muffins
which are baked by Steven G’s family.
All ingredients are naturally whole-
some using seasonal ingredients and
served fresh daily.
It has not taken
Yogoccino
long to
become integrated into the communi-
ty. Steven has already been connected
with Governor Livingston School
donating his time toward a business
management lesson, donating gift cer-
tificates to the VFW, local and middle
school fundraisers and more. Accord-
ing to Steven, “you have to give a little
in order to receive back from the com-
munity.”
Yogoccino’s
expansion proj-
ect is already in progress with plans for
brunches and lunch service right next
door. In addition, the basement of the
building will be renovated to accom-
modate large parties for women’s
groups, children and holidays. Steven is
even talking about a possible franchise
in the future as well. Stop by between

am-10pm Monday-Thursday and
8
am-11pm Friday-Sunday for break-
fast, homemade waffles, espresso,
cappuccino, mocha cappuccino, oat-
meal and of course yogurt. At any time
