Welcome to the Fall edition of
The Warren-Watchung Connec-
tion Magazine. It is one of our
most popular issues during the
year as it is a valued source for
those returning from a relaxed
summer schedule to normal routines. You will see
many new advertisers, interesting articles, Commu-
nity News pieces, our Community Calendar and
more! Our dedicated sections this issue are: Back 2
School, Tie The Knot, Dining Out, Home Sweet
Home, Health & Wellness, Spotlight on Seniors
and a NEW Fall Fun Guide, which highlights a few
local farms great for apple picking, pumpkins and
more goodies! We hope these sections make the
magazine more focused and easier to read.
Local artist, Larry Felder, adorns our front cover
with an oil on Masonite painting entitled, “Hesper-
ornis with Fish.” The Hesperornis was a flightless,
toothed common sea bird of the Late Cretaceous Pe-
riod, and swam North American seas 85 million years
ago. This painting was one of 80 Larry featured in
his book, “ In The Presence of Dinosaurs” published
by Time/Life Books in 2000. This book was the only
Time/Life book awarded a Starred Review in “ Pub-
lisher’s Weekly” and based on this photorealistic
painting we can see why. Please read Larry’s impres-
sive bio on page 8.
In keeping with our dedication to the “Commu-
nity,” we are proud to feature several significant
Community events this issue. Firstly, Warren Town-
ship is proud to introduce The Warren Township
Chamber of Commerce. This new group is open to
all businesses large and small, and its mission is to
make Warren an even better place to work and live.
The kick off meeting will be September 26, 2013 at
Mt. Bethel Village Supportive Housing for Adults
with Special Needs, 130 Mt. Bethel Road Warren at
8am. Another important community event coming
up is Keeping Babies Safe 5k Run/Walk held on
Sunday September 29th at Harry Dunham Park,
Basking Ridge, whose mission is to raise money to
provide education, assistance and leadership in keep-
ing babies safe from preventable injuries associated
with unsafe cribs, sleep enviornments and danger-

Art is proud to present a benefit art auction entitled
“Off The Wall,” Friday evening, October 25th at
7pm. Proceeds from this event will benefit education
programs at The Center. Visit the website for more

set County Tourism, the official Destination Mar-
keting Organization for Somerset County will
recognize positive economic contributions of individ-
uals and organizations through tourism activities at
its FIRST annual Somerset County salute to Tourism
awards on November 7th. Area residents are encour-
aged to nominate a deserving individual or organi-
