When he founded
AEPG Wealth
Strategies
more than three decades
ago, president Steven Kaye sought to
establish a firm that could provide
solutions for the complex needs of
individuals, their families and their
businesses.
AEPG
is a valuable resource
for thorough, expert advice in seven
areas: financial planning, estate plan-
ning, elder care planning, investment
management, risk management, group
benefits and pension and retirement
planning.
For many people, the personal and
the business side converge, and
AEPG
is well positioned to assist. “A lot of
firms say they can do it, but we excel at
it because we are strong in all seven
areas, and we know how the pieces fit
together,” says Chris Schiffer, head of
strategic planning, operations and
compliance at
AEPG.
“
For privately owned businesses,
especially, the two sides, business and
personal, can become complex. We
help reduce that complexity. A good
example is physicians who are
extremely busy serving their patients,
running their practice, staying up to
date with their continuing education
and managing their personal and
financial affairs.”
“
We provide deeper and broader
financial planning than most wealth
management firms,” agree Kaye.
Trustworthy and Well Credentialed
Serving privately owned businesses
and high net work individuals,
AEPG
is
a “fee only” firm; the company does
not earn commissions on any invest-
ment products it recommends – assur-
ing that its advisors always act in
clients’ best interests.
The firm takes pride in its deep
bench of financial experts with a wide
array of credentials.
“
Credentials matter,” Schiffer says.
“
We take the time to get those cre-
dentials and maintain them because
we’re bettering ourselves so that we
can better serve our clients.”
Thorough and Individualized
The firm’s advisors aim to identify
every weak link in clients’ financial
planning chains, closely examining their
income, expenses, assets, liabilities and
taxes, while considering the important
interpersonal, emotional considerations
of clients. “Our mission is to educate,
guide and protect our clients through
life events by providing consistently
good advice in a constantly changing
world,” Kaye says. “We learn every-
thing we can about our clients.”
They take the unusual step of put-
ting retirement projections and invest-
ment portfolios through stress tests
such as a retirement sufficiency analy-
sis. They use “Monte Carlo” analysis, a
robust statistical method, to see how a
worst-case scenario – a 40 percent
stock market crash, for instance – will
affect those numbers.
The result is trustworthy, detailed
advise across a wide range of issues –
from guiding parents of young children
in choosing a 529 college savings plan
to establishing a financial plan for an
aging family member in the event of a
health crisis.
“
It’s not just one-stop shopping,”
Kaye says. “It’s cradle-to-grave one-
stop shopping.”
