THE BERNARDS-RIDGE CONNECTION
SEPTEMBER 2013
BERNARDSVILLE
PRINT CENTER

Mine Brook Road
Bernardsville
By: Rita Quade
Richard C. Steinberg
Bernardsville Print Center,
ideally located in the heart of
Bernardsville, is a vital part of
all that is going on in this area
and beyond.
Using the newest, state-of-
the-art equipment for handling
printing of all kinds, the compa-
ny will celebrate its 25th year of
providing the highest quality of
printing and silk screening in
March.
Service, quality and fair pric-
ing are the watchwords that
guide Richard C. Steinberg in
the running of his firm.
“
It’s through these practices
that we’ve built up a faithful fol-
lowing of pleased customers
over all these many years,” he
said. “We guide them step by
step through whatever printing
means they choose, personal or
commercial. They know exactly
what they’re getting, and that
the price will be fair and service
prompt.”
The importance of these
words cannot be stressed
enough, he feels, and they are
readily available to those who
believe in shopping locally,
where they will receive individ-
ual attention and follow-up for
all their needs.
“
It’s unusual for a small busi-
ness to be in operation for 25
years,” he observed. “Mine is
probably one of a small handful
in Bernardsville still run by the
original owner. What does that
say?”
“
I’m in business because I am
not just an order taker. I am a
third generation printer. My
father used to bring work home,
and he taught me to proofread
upside down and backwards. I
had a natural interest because of
the family background, and I for-
tified it with graphic and work-
study classes and 10 years as
Production Manager for Budget
Print Center of Westfield before I
started my own business.”
“
It’s what you bring to the
community that matters,” he
explained. “We specialize in
printing, and we know how to
handle any need. Also, we know
our customers on a first-name
basis, know their ordering pat-
terns. We have a comfortable,
personal relationship with them.”
“
One of the reasons that I
went into business locally is
that I want to give back to the
community.”
To that end, he serves on the
Board of the Bernardsville Cham-
ber of Commerce, and is sup-
porting the Basking Ridge Little
League team in its involvement
in a state-wide tournament.
“
My goal is to produce the
best printed product for the
most reasonable price, and for
my customers to walk out of
here smiling.”
