More Wine Anyone?
The Award-Winning Wine Program
at Bedminster’s Pluckemin Inn
Keeps Expanding
Pluckemin Inn has been called “one of the 50 most amazing wine experi-
ences in America” by Food & Wine Magazine, and is a Grand Award-win-
ning restaurant, one of only about 75 restaurants in the world to receive
such a distinction. And yet, the Wine Program, under the stewardship of
Sommelier Brian Hider, shows no signs of slowing down, or resting on its
grapes.
To highlight the Spring/Summer menu from Executive Chef Andrew
Lattanzio, Hider is orchestrating a complete calendar of wine events, wine
classes and the launch of the Pluckemin Inn Wine Shop – the online wine
retail center of the restaurant.
Wine Classes
If you love wine, or want to learn more about how to buy it, store it and
enjoy it, then there’s probably a wine class or two for you. Already this year,
Pluckemin Inn has hosted wine classes including “Intro to French Wine,”
“
Brunello Master Class,” and “Wine and Cheese,” where attendees got to
learn the art of pairing wines with cheeses, while exploring several selec-
tions of each.
Throughout the summer, more classes are planned including some that will
survey specific regions (like Napa Valley, Tuscany, Australia, etc.) and others
that will highlight how to enjoy different wines, how to select wines and
much more. For more information, stay tuned to the Pluckemin Inn web-
site for a calendar of upcoming wine classes.
Wine Dinners and Tastings
In addition to wine classes, Pluckemin Inn is also hosting several paired
wine dinners that typically feature a specific vineyard or a particular region.
These events are spectacular, because attendees get to sample certain
wines or certain vintages that are not otherwise very accessible, and get to
enjoy them around a custom-crafted three or four-course meal. Recent
events included a sampling of Opus One, Duckhorn Vineyards, and a sam-
pling of Burgundy wines.
Pluckemin Inn Wine Shop
The crowning achievement of Pluckemin Inn’s Wine Program can now be
found in their online wine shop, www.pluckemininnwineshop.com. This is
a website where you can explore rare and hard-to-find wines that are
hand-picked by Pluckemin Inn’s Sommelier Brian Hider. Plus, there are
selections for every budget and taste. You can have wines shipped virtual-
ly anywhere in the country, or if you’re local, come and pick up your pur-
chase right at Pluckemin Inn!
Wine and Food
Don’t forget, you can enjoy an incredible wine experience any time you
visit Pluckemin Inn for lunch or dinner. The wine list is an extraordinary
adventure, and there’s always someone to help guide you through the
selections.
