Having four seasons, I will never run out of inspiration for painting. By the time I was 6, I knew I was an artist. After getting a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting and using all kinds of media, I decided my favorite was watercolor. It was convenient when I was raising my children and I liked the way it looked no matter what I was painting. Early in my art career I did illustrations and commissioned portraits. A few years ago one of my portraits was accepted into the American Watercolor Society show at the Salmagundi Club, NY. After working with watercolor for many years I started teaching Floral Watercolor classes and now I also teach Mixed Watermedia. I combine some of the water mediums I used in college with the watercolor. With mixed media I will paint landscapes, still lives or portraits, but florals have always been one of my favorite things to paint. Most of the time I will work from photos in my studio, but when weather is good I like to paint plein air. Often a group of artists will get to- gether to paint at a park and I will start a painting that I will finish in the studio, or use the painting and photos as reference for a larger piece.
