General admission is $24.99 for adults and $19.99 for children ages 2-12, with a $7 parking fee for cars and vans. Despite being named Liberty Science Center, a number of its featured exhibi- tions combine art, science, and interactiv- ity for fun, hands-on learning. The LSC is 300,000 square feet, housing 12 exhibi- tion halls, a live animal collection with 110 species, aquariums, a 3D theater, class- rooms and labs, and the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium and LSC Giant Dome Theater, which is the biggest planetarium in the Western Hemisphere. One such exhibition is called “Sky- scraper!” Visitors of all ages can learn about the physics and engineering behind skyscrapers and how they impact cities and the environment. As for the interac- tivity-- bold visitors can strap into a har- ness and walk across a narrow steel beam 18 feet above the floor! “Wonder Why” allows for hands-on learning. Visitors can learn about friction by rock climbing, learn about flight by witnessing a ball in an air- stream, and marvel at six-foot-wide soap bubbles. “Pixel Art” combines art and sci- ence with a wall installation of 952-pixel dials. Visitors can rotate the dials to see one of 1,000 color combinations, the in- tersection of visual art, and the science behind color and light. Finally, adults 21 and over can enjoy LSC After Dark, an after-hours, themed party held on the third Thursday of the month from 6-10 pm. Adults can explore exhibitions, enjoy food and drinks, and dance the night away. Check the website for COVID related updates. Fall is the perfect time for visitors of all ages to enjoy LSC’s indoor, air-conditioned facilities and immerse yourself in science! We will reopen with digital tickets and limited capacity. Guests are asked to purchase tickets online in order to reduce wait times and increase physical distancing. Tickets will go on sale closer to the reopening. Guests age 2 and over must wear masks. All of our staff members will be wearing them, too. We have fun new programming designed with your health and safety in mind. While some experiences, like the Touch Tunnel and Infinity Climber , will be temporarily closed, our team has created lots of new programs and modified exhibitions to reduce contact. Stay tuned for the exciting updates! We are doing body temperature checks. If you register above 100.3°F, your party will have to return another time. Increased daily disinfecting and sanitizing protocols will be in place for the entire facility. There will be special attention paid to highly trafficked areas and high-touch surfaces throughout the building and its exhibits. Hand sanitizer is readily available throughout the building.
