This winemade from the Pinot Gris grape hails fromnorthern Italy. Pinot Gris, known as Pinot Grigio in Italy, is believed to be a mutation of the Pinot Noir grape, as the skins are a blue/gray color vs. the traditional green skins of other white wine grapes. Traditionally light in avor, many wine snobs claim Pinot Grigio is too simple and uninteresting. Stay away from the bad, massed produced bottles of Pinot Grigio and you will be pleasantly surprised. The nose on this wine is soft and fruity. The rst sip yields plenty of citrus notes, followed by an unexpected depth of avor. There is a nice balance of fruit and acidity that makes this the perfect respite from a hot summer’s day. If you are looking for a light, easy drinking wine, look no further. Reg. price: $13.99 / Sale price: $9.97 Sileni Estates Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough, New Zealand 2019 Sauvignon Blanc grapes are bursting with avor and produce wines so aromatic they seem to jump out of the glass and into your nose. There are distinct di erences in the grapes and the styles of wines produced depending on where they are grown. The southern hemisphere Sauvignon Blanc grapes tend to be very heavy with avors of grapefruit and grass. They are usually much too cloying for my taste. However, this one by Sileni Estates is di erent. The nose is very pronounced with the expected aromas of cut grass, green bell pepper and lemon-lime zest. The wine does explode on your tongue, but with a variety of di erent avors. Grapefruit is present, but well balanced with green apple, green bell pepper and tomato leaf. It is zesty and refreshing and will pair nicely with summer seafood, linguine in clam sauce or barbequed chicken! Reg. price: $14.99 / Sale price: $10.97 Ignacio Marin Old Vine Garnacha Carinena, Spain 2015 Think of a sizzling hot steak and a buttered baked potato, right o the grill, as the perfect accompaniment to this hearty Spanish red. Garnacha, or as it is more commonly referred to as Grenache, is an earthy, spicy grape that is naturally high in alcohol. Old Vine Garnacha earned a well-deserved rating of 90 points from Wine Enthusiast. It has been aged in oak barrels for a minimum of three months, which enhanc- es the deep, earthy avors of the grape. This wine is dark cherry red in color with notes of cherries, blackberries and licorice on the nose. The high concentration of ripe fruit balances out the tannins resulting in a smooth mouth feel, followed by a lingering nish of fennel, black olives and pepper. It is an ideal companion to a cheese and charcuterie board during cocktail hour on the deck! Reg. price: $14.99 / Sale price: $9.97 Each wine carefully chosen. Most are $15 and up regular price.
