Originally owned by brothers, Yanni and Angelo Roditis, who created the foundation for every- one’s favorite NJ Deli, Rock Deli is now owned and run by their nephew, Dino Roditis. Dino has kept all family recipes in- tact and family traditions alive that have been practiced by the Roditis for de- cades. Rock Deli is a place of nostalgia for customers who have been dining at the deli all these years since they were kids. Yanni and Angelo are both immi- grants from Greece. Coming to the Unit- ed States at a young age, they made the American Dream come true. Yanni worked at Rock Deli as an employee, saved his money and one day bought the deli, and started building it into the deli it is today. People remember these years as the deli being so packed that there were always lines wrapped out- side the door. His younger brother, An- gelo took over the deli and further built it up, turning it into what it is today. Now, Dino, their nephew is exceeding their expectations by expanding the menu, catering options, and opening a meal prep service called “Rock Kitchen” which will be opening in February 2021. Rock Deli’s claim to fame is their Belly Buster, Philly Cheese Steak, and of course “Rocky’s Reuben.” Rock Deli isn’t called “The Home of The Belly Buster” for nothing so if you haven’t already, be sure to stop by and check it out for your- self! The Belly Buster deliciously consists of three scrambled eggs, with bacon, sausage, and pork roll with home fries on a half sub, with or with- out the cheese. It is then cooked to perfection and made to order (as are all of their meals) delivering one of the best tasting Belly Busters in NJ. The Reuben boasts of their homemade Russian dressing and coleslaw giving it a one-of-a-kind taste (but can also be made with sauerkraut and mustard). The Philly Cheese Steak is made with Boar’s Head Roast Beef that is seasoned and oven cooked in-house, also giving it that one-of-a-kind-taste. Not only do you get an amazing food experience at this deli but you also get personalized service. “Our custom- ers are like our family and we remember their orders by just seeing their faces. We know what they want to eat before they even step foot inside”, say the own- ers. Rock Deli is devoted to its commu- nity, making numerous donations to the local hospital during COVID and con- stantly supporting essential workers, es- pecially during these times. Rock Deli would also like to thank everyone who supported them during these times and know that it means so much. Rock Deli is open 6 days a week: Monday through Friday, 5 am to 3 pm Saturdays, 6 am to 2 pm. Make sure you check out their social media pages to access their menus and stay up to date on new items.
