Irene Costello Brandle lives and works in New Jersey. She was born in Dublin, Ireland, and immigrated to New York as a child.
She is a realist painter working primarily in oils but also enjoys working in acrylics and pastels. Her studio is in a community of artists at Riker Hill Art Park in Essex County.
She works from still life arrangements and facilitates weekly open model sessions from the fall-spring season. These sessions are currently on hold due to COVID-19. She also spends much of her time painting en Plein air.
“I’m inspired by color, form, and texture in the landscape. It is exciting to set up my easel and work in the morning light at a particular location”. Irene often paints on Cape Cod and is captivated by the beauty of the bay beaches, salt marsh areas, and old structures. “I’ve been painting for many years and continue to grow and learn from each new work”.
Irene’s paintings have been in group and solo shows including The American Professional Artist, NY; Provincetown Art Association and Museum, MA; Studio Montclair, NJ; Nautique (interior design), MA; Jackie Kling Gallery, NJ, and Essex Fine Art Gallery, NJ.
She sells her work in the US and internationally. You can view her work at http://Irenecostellobrandle.com
