Ann considers herself to be a “Jersey Girl.” New Jersey has been her home for most of her life. For the past 25 years, Ann and her family have resided in the beautiful, rural farm country of Sussex County.
While art has always been her avocation, it wasn’t until 2004, when she became determined to get more serious about her artwork. She began to take workshops with accomplished artists whose work she admired. These gifted artists included Barbara Nechis, Frank Webb, Eric Weigardt, Karen Rosasco, Pat Dews, Judi Betts, Gerald Brommer, Skip Lawrence, Nancy Barch, Ratindra Das, Sterling Edwards, and Fabio Cembranelli. From each of these esteemed artists and from each workshop, Ann gleaned additional knowledge and techniques with which to bolster her own evolving expertise. Although she still works as an IT analyst on a per diem basis, Ann now paints on a regular basis in her home studio (the converted dining room) and enjoys teaching classes and workshops.
Ann has attained signature membership in both the New Jersey and the Garden State Watercolor Societies. She maintains memberships in the local Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council, the International Society of Experimental Artists, Watercolor West, and the National Collage Society. Many of her works reside in the private collections of her avid patrons. Her work has won awards including back-to-back Best in Show awards in the Skylands Annual Juried Art Exhibitions of 2017 and 2018, as well as top awards in the 50th International Watercolor West Exhibition, the 76th and 77th NJWCS Annual Juried Exhibitions, and the GSWC 49th and 50th Annual Juried Exhibitions.
