Andrea Giordano is a local artist whose paintings reflect “The Art of Life.” Formally educated in biology, Andrea is predominantly a self taught artist who brings her love of the natural world to the canvas. Born and raised in New Jersey, she frequents parks and coastal regions, in and out of state, to observe and photograph nature for artistic inspiration. As a young student, Andrea managed to achieve a balance between art and science by taking art electives throughout her education. It was not until years later, after teaching science in graduate school, working in the pharmaceutical industry and eventually changing course to stay home and raise her children, that Andrea truly cultivated her painting skills. She began by working independently at home in acrylic and later studied oil painting under the tutelage of her friend and fellow artist, Andrea Gianchiglia. Today, Andrea paints in both oil and acrylic media. Her works range from butterflies, to marine life (including turtles, sharks, penguins and fossils), to botanicals as well as landscapes.
The artist manages her time between her homes in New Jersey and Florida. She maintains a private studio at home and online gallery www.agfineartgallery.com. Andrea offers classes by appointment at
St. Mark’s, 140 S. Finely Avenue, Basking Ridge, New Jersey.
