Mostly self-taught, Carol really gives credit to all the won- derful other artists who shared their tal- ents through classes, workshops, demonstrations, books, and videos. “I was terrified to return to painting after a very long hiatus but connected with artist/instructor, Christina Debarry, PSA, in Florham Park, NJ. I was so fright- ened when I arrived at Christina’s studio I cried, but Christina just handed me some pastels and made me paint.“ Pastels are Carol’s first love but she is expanding into other media, such as oils, watercolors, and colored pencil and has received awards in several media. Since she took up painting again in 2010, Carol has earned a Signature Member- ship in the Pastel Society of New Jersey and an Associate Membership of the Pastel Society of America and belongs to other organizations such as the Audubon Artists Society, Allied Artists of America, The Livingston Artist Associa- tion, and The Clifton Association of Artists.
