The Connections Bridgewater Somerville Edition Dec 2019-Jan 2020

PAGE 8 THE BRIDGEWATER-SOMERVILLE CONNECTION DEC 2019/JAN 2020 Max Sang has had the privilege of being an educator teaching Kinder- garten her entire adult career. Com- bined with a love of psychology in college, she used her degrees to complement the way she ran her classrooms and handled the many youngsters who helped fulfill her life’s dream. When her teaching career was winding down, Max began a tutoring business which kept her active and involved in educating. With a passion for the arts including music, dance, theater, literature, movies and more, Max thought she had satisfied her creative side until she innocently doodled a drawing in front of an artist friend who pointed out her inner talent. At the urging of her friend, Max began the journey of learning how to paint. She started experimenting with a few brushes and a few tubes of oil paint and real- ized how much she loved creating a work of art. Max started taking lessons to learn technique and ended up working with a mentor who became a dear friend, S. Allyn Schaeffer. He was a tremendous inspiration for her and they painted together for many years. She began to show her work in solo and group shows at Swain Galleries in Plainfield and has had much success there. Max now has the best of all worlds as she contin- ues to tutor and has the time to paint for a living as well. Life Is Good! MAXWELL SANG theconnectionsnj.com
