Rhoda Yanow is a widely exhibited National and International artist. A New Jersey native she completed her art education at the Parsons School of Design and the National Academy of Design in New York City. Mrs. Yanow has extensive teaching experience including DuCret School of the Arts, Pastel Society of America, the Newark Museum, the Visual Art Center of New Jersey, private classes and workshops. She has been a Juror on many National and International Shows.Her many memberships include the Pastel Society of America, where she is a founding member as well as a life member.
She served as a Board Member from 1975 to 2008, a former PSA Vice President, a Master Pastelist since 1979 and a Hall of Fame Honoree in 2016. She is Corresponding Secretary of Allied Artists of America and has memberships in Catherine Lorilllard Wolfe Art Club, Audubon Artists, Hudson Valley Art Association, Artists Fellowship and the French Pastel Society.
Mrs. Yanow’s work has been extensively collected by the Butler Museum of American Art, Youngstown, Ohio where she was the recipient of a One Woman Show in the Spring of 2006 and a repeat performance in 2013. Her work is also in the Morristown Museum, Morristown, NJ, The Noyes Museum, Oceanview, NJ, The Chinese Government for the first Pastel Museum in China, and Prince Albert Museum, London, England as well as many corporate and private collections.
Her awards and acceptances into Juried Art Shows are too numerous to mention here. She is the recipient of many Best in Show Awards and Gold and Silver Medals. In 1982, she received the Anna Hyatt Huntington First for Painting from the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club. This award can only be received one time.
Mrs. Yanow’s work has been published and shown in many books and publications.
